    Motherboard nearly kills man

well my new NF7-S nearly gave me a heart attack anyway.I just powered up my pc went in to my bios, changed a couple of settings.Saved them and let the pc power up but straight away it just give out a loud alarm noise. It just wouldn't stop!!Well i was panicking because of the "please do not turn off the power while bios is saving settings"message.Running about pulling my hair out screaming "no not me again" This is my 5 board in as many months and i thought it was going to be a crocked bios at the least. After about 2 mins of the alarm sounding I just pulled the power lead out.The alarm still went on for about 5 seconds after i pulled it.I went away and started to worry about what i would tell the wife this time lol,but anyway after a few minutes i tried to power it up and it posted but it was in standard bios settings, thank god !!!
I nearly Crapped myself the first time i powered up with AbitEQ installed.Didnt have a clue what the siren was for lol. That one also got my wife as well. One morning she powered up the pc the alarm sounded and she came running shouting the pc's making a funny alarm sound come help !!!
ah well better go lucking for the clumps of hair i pulled out as i havent got that much left to start with
    PS
thanks guys especially Steve for making me get this NF7-S mobo as i love it

Yeah, the NF7-S has an auto reset feature or something like that... if it can't post it defaults to safe values and goes from there. iirc, there's a keyboard combo you can press to reset the CMOS from software if the machine can't post... very handy if you stuff the settings up but don't want to be clambering around under the desk unplugging everything again...

Howard, yeah, its something like that... insert and F12 or ctrl or something. Its in the manual anyways.... but who reads them?

That said, I found my mobo manual to be nearly invaluable.... sure as hell stops the wobble on the desk now...

Load fail safe default then load optimised defaults and then set up your overclock that cured the air raid siren problem for me
