    Derren Brown: Seance Yesterday

What the hell was that all about? He had me going for a minute.

And how stupid do those people who called up claiming strange things must feel?

It was worth the watch, I would like to know how he did that.

I think he was a complete w*nker for doing it, just because that one was fake does not prove all are fake. After the show as we had all the equipment set up we tried to do a proper one. I'm not going to go into details but it was real. It took us a while for it to work but once it did we got scarily accurate results, at one point we all got so scared we let go of the glass and it kept moving by itself.

The photos of people were set up very well so that 9/10 you got Jane. If you know how people think you can make them pick a certain room, and by suggesting things throughout the show he made both people write down london, the people probably picked it because they had been telling people for weeks "i'm going to london to be on TV", so london was at the front of their mind.

The glass moved because the people where concentrating on the letters because they all had the same name in their heads.

The spirit cupboard, no idea how that worked tho.

I saw the last 30 minutes or so of this, I knew it'd be a set up tbh, its what he does best. How weirded out must those people have been though because it looked like they truly believed what had happened when he was talking to them afterwards.

I was completely confused at the end of it, were all those people actors or something? Some of them were not very convincing

    Doh, missed it :/

Normally like watching his stuff. Especially when he got a full payout, from dog racing, on a dead last ticket

How did he do that payout thing? Did I miss some of it, because what I remember seeing of it, he pretty much just said "I won the last race" was there any build up? : o

I caught the end of the seance thing, and it all felt a bit naff (especially the home video part, awful stuff), however we tried something with a ouigi board a while back and it kinda spooky in a fun sort of way!

Yeah that home video gave it all away. Such obvious acting. Did that girl really think that "Jane" was talking to them through her body?

I thought it was a really interesting programme. I had a feeling that he made it all up right at the beginning. It was a clever trick.

When the bloke freaked out in the box and the paper went everywhere, that was crazy. He seemed genuinely shook up.

Were all the volenters hypnotized before the programme or something?

At first me and friends were prety convinced that the participants had udnergone some form of hypnosis as it instantly makes you more open to suggestion etc. As it wore on it became a lot more obvious that it wasn't real for those at home but the participants were getting more n more freaked!. N it's easy to see why.

I guess he just wanted to prove how powerful the mind can be and that it was all in their heads - who knows whats really there tho!

not meaning to call you a liar but tbh... you are ignoring the basic rules of physics, objects cannot move without a force acting upon it, and seeing as you werent holding it and I presume you werent in an earthquake it didnt move.
tbh anybody who belives in "spirits" and "ghosts" wants their heads examined, no sane and logical person could come to the conculsion that these things exist.
when you die, you brain stops working and all the little neurons and synapses stop working and break down you are dead. We all know the brain is the source of personality and higher reasoning not some invisible "soul", its been proved by biologists for fecking ages. Get over it and use your head ffs, because one day your gonna die and it wont work anymore.

    /end rant....

It must be sad to live life with the view that nothing happens after we die, that life is infact pointless and there's no reason for us being here.

You might think so, but Im actually very comfortable with the truth and do not feel the need to belive in a patantly riddiculous idea such as "life after death" or "reincarnation", that rubbish is just for people too weak to accept the truth.

dark room, glow in the dark ball...piece of string...how to scare people. Darren Brown talks it up into this big thing - he does it quite cleverly and draws people in, give him credit some stuff he does really is fascinating - i liked the games of chess he played against 9 chess masters...quite funny how he did it too. so its the tiny little things that he does that i think are clever and fun, some of the big stuff gets my goat a little as its a bit too 'sensationalist'...nevermind eh, its all entertainment after all
