What can I do?

Hey everyone. I'm not really sure if this is the right place but you guys always give good advice so I'll go ahead and ask

My previous landlord owes me 400 euro in deposit and I cannot get hold of him at all. I have lived in the property for 2 years but decided to move out in May and find a new place. Since then I have tried to contact him multiple times via email and leaving messages on his phone but I've gotten no replies. I have paid all of my rent and he didn't raise any issues with me when I left so I should be within my right to demand my deposit back right? Is there anything I can do at this stage to force him to pay up? I haven't threatened him with anything yet but a google search reveals an organisation called Threshold that I can contact in Ireland. There is also the PRTB which seems to be a regulatory authority that I can contact. Is there anything I should know or do before going down this route?

And in the interests of a 'general discussion' , do you have any bad (or good) landlord stories?

Basically you can ask for it back, and depending on your circumstances he should have used the TDP
