Right,
I have recently retrieved a load of my old star wars toys from my parents' attic, and got stickers for the at at and ordered replacement parts, etc, and pressed it into service with my own son, who loves it. It's surprising, actually, what a difference the stickers make. Even if they are the wrong colour...

still. It got me thinking about other toys I had. For example, I remember a ROM Space Knight doll. Very cool. And I remember Battle Of The Planets mini-jigsaws. Also very cool.

BUT... my favourite toy was a futuristic gun belt. It was in a kind of petrol-swirl grey/ purple-grey plastic, and had amber/ yellow translucent plastic bits. The gun was attached to a belt that was worn around the waist. It was battery powered. The noise that the gun made could be selected from a slider switch to be gun, grenade, rocket, laser, etc (much like those "stress relief" key ring things from the early 90s/ late 80s). It also had a microphone that was clipped onto the belt, and, obviously, a loudspeaker through which the gun noises and microphone were broadcast.

It was, frankly, the nuts, and I can't remember what it was called. I've looked on ebay for "classic 80s space gun belt" and similar, but to no avail.

Anyone else remember this? It would have been about 1980 - 1985, I suppose, when I was 4 - 9.

Happy days.
