    Unhappy contact lenses

well, just started wearing contacts again after about 12-13 years, and I've got to say it's pretty odd!
I've got distance vision in my left eye, and close-up in my right... very odd and annoying - think I'm going to have to go back to glasses!

They can take a little getting used to. Just dont get totally drunk and forget you took them out the night before & start pinching your eyeballs with a hangover.

not at all - that's the confusing thing - I think it's the astigmatism that really buggers everything up!

I've got the same problem, my right eye power is about 2 steps more powerful to counteract the astigmatism.

Mines a reverse of that though, I wear my contacts all the time, so going back to glasses really messes my head up a bit. (coz the astigmatism is corrected and i'm not used to it.)

That reminds me, i should order some more...
Have you got torics? or just normal contacts?

    yeah - using torics -
I guess it's just an odd feeling - am going down to see the eye doc shortly to see what he can suggest -
if I go to monthlies I think I can get finer grading on the steps, as I'm -0.75 and 30 degree in the left eye, and -1.25 and 160 degree in the other eye.
I'm getting my main set of glasses redone at the moment too, and have to get my prescription shades redone this week. The new lenses should be in tomorrow, and apparently will be ready for collection monday afternoon.
It's a really odd feeling though!

I haven't used the torics as mine isn't as bad as that.
BUT my prescription is a lot worse! -3.00 in left and -3.25 in right (due to compensation for astigmatism)

I've used the dailies for years now as they're better for your eyes. Bit more expensive, but you don't have to worry about the cleaning etc!

It does take a while to get used to them...

A year ago I chnaged from Gas Permeable Hard lenses to soft lenses. While the soft lenses seem to dry out quite quick, I feel they are better. However I used my old hard lesnes a while back for a day, was very very strnage. Anyone who has tried the differnt types might know what I am on about. I prefer wearing my contacts to my glasses.
