    Taking valubles abroad...

right, i was just wondering what you lot do about taking digital cameras on holiday... do you not bother and just take a normal one, hope all the fotos turn out ok and pay the price for developing then finding out half the spool got ruined (it happens!) or do you chance it and take ur digital camera with you....

just wondering cos i dunno what to do and i'm going away on tuesday...

I think you hould take it because they are just made to take on holiday. Its like driving around in an old car to prevent damaging your new porsche- understandable yet pointless

i think taking it would be a stupid idea.... unless its a real cheap and taccy one that u wouldnt care about if it broke.

Insurance doesnt cover it abroad, and neither does the warrenty if u break it or whatever. Especially if it's a beach holiday which i'm pretty sure it is from what u've told me, theres no point taking the risk if it's an even remotly nice camera.

Save the hassle and get a disposable camera or 2...

Im just back from holiday, and took me lappy, and the digicam and ipods. Just look after them, dont do anything stupid and youll be alright. But if your taking a laptop expect customs to want you open it up or at least let them look at it.

    Good analogy!

But people really do do this! My dad does something like this, really incomprehensable: use a laptop that his work's provide (a 133Mhz, P1, with 32Mb ram) instead of using his 800Mhz cellery... mind you, the way his is performing lately (must have about every worm on the internet on it from the recent dip in performance) its hard to judge which is faster...
