This has already been posted today iirc, I can't find the thread though so I may be wrong.

A very nice video though! I would absolutely love to go and see the Aurora Borealis at some point in my life

I hope to see it in December, I am in Fairbanks Alaska for 8 days. If I do see it I will get some pictures

Used to see it all the time when I lived in Canada.

A totally indescribable sight, pictures and videos do it no justice

I saw a display in Iceland last year, we were quite lucky as we were only there for two nights. Good tripod + External trigger if you want good pictures!

The other thing is it looks a lot less dramatic most of the time, compared to how pictures make it seem.

It's still worth seeing, but all those 'classic' photographs are 15s+. That video is a collection of a long exposures.

As its a moving effective, if you look at a picture of it you can see that some of it is more intense, the very edges where its faint and less extreme, that is all you will see with the naked eye, its the constant build up of light on the camera sensor/film which looks so vivid.

Its still amazing, and haunting in a way, and I would defiantly recommend Iceland as a great place to have a weekend break.

Just remember photographs are an artistic dramatisation, and this video is no exception!
