Tried making some of the Star Wars Snowflakes with a friend, but we think we need a laser cutter - ended up with lots of scrap paper, and much else!

Battlefield 3 wrapping paper sounds good though.

Surely a printer, a sharp blade and a smooth cutting surface would be the best way?

A laser cutter would surely leave a black, burnt edge?

Not so sure about the blackened edges with a laser cutter, but something like a Roland plotter/cutter is made (literally) for jobs like this.

I have never used/seen one of those things. I just like the idea of a laser cutter - no sore finger joints from heavy scissor use!

I guess if you're doing a Darth helmet / tie fighter shapes, a little 'colour' would add to it.

    My attempt:

Just on standard printer paper and using sharp scissors for the big stuff and a razor knife for the little details
