    Question Problems with refund

    Hi everyone I placed an order with John Lewis over the phone on the 17th of December but on Monday the 19th December I cancelled the order. I have been waiting ever since for a refund.

    I have rang and emailed them only to be told each time that they are refunding the money and it will take 3-5 days. This has yet to happen and I now have to pay my credit card bill.

    How do I sort this out now? Nothing I seem to be doing is helping as I don't seem to be getting this refund and its leaving me almost £800 out of pocket.

    I would ring again.....ask for the name of the person you are talking to and then tell them it is almost 4 weeks since cancellation and that they will be in breech of UK consumer law very soon if the money has not been refunded.

    They have 30 days to refund, after that they are then outside of the "reasonable time" part of the law.

    What happens after 30 days? Its just such a pain. Never had a problem like this before. Sometimes its took a few days extra but nearly 4 weeks is ridiculous. I wont be using them again . . .

    you have 2 options speak with the manager and make sure to say because the refund was not done on the samebilling cycleyou will be charging interest if you refund it to the credit card, or you can ask him to refund it to the debt card and pay it off with no interest charges.
    Option2 tell your credit card company they sort it out asap.

    Credit car won't help till it's gone over the 30 days.

    Apart from cancelling the order on their website did you also e-mail your cancellation mate ?
