That's true in the UK too - in fact it's true anywhere in the EU. In the UK, for an EU citizen to claim benefits they have to be actively seeking work.

But the being able to work anywhere is an EU thing, and the UK can't change that... (well, not without leaving the EU, I guess...?)

Yes but I can't get them at all weather seeking work or not.

I cannot however claim any benefits, if I cannot support myself then I can go back to the UK

I was going to write up a proper rebuttal of this, but if this is as much as you have to contribute to the debate then it probably isn't worth it. But you've certainly proven the point of the thread. For that I take my hat off to you.
