Intercepting a call between the FBI and Scotland Yard, pretty hardcore stuff no?

If it wasnt the same group of people stealing credit cards and such, the anarchist in me would possibly have a touch of respect for them.

    Nope, childsplay.

A simple exercise in social engineering, hell if there where getting any of hte interesting ones, I'd assume they'd have leaked them.

They probably just got hold of a "external conference dial in xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx conf code xxx xxx xxx" email and dialed in.

    Re: Anonymous at it again

I wonder if the phone line they used was an anonymous one. We all like to to see "the man" be brought down a peg but some of the groups are just downright crims. While some members of certain groups might have lofty ideals I bet others have more selfish idea's.

They didn't hack any phone lines.

The call was recorded and was found inside a email as an audio file.

Only if you're the kind of person that has no understanding of how the internet works, although I agree that covers most of the world's politicians.

However the web is policed, you couldn't stop hacks like this.

I was under the impression they got access to an email that detailed the conference call number and dial-in code. The BBC site that says the call was found on an email are only suggesting that as they don't really know how it was recorded.

If it was found on an email then it could have been placed by anybody. As petercook said its about as obvious as an oncoming train light what happens next if people believe this.

    Re: Anonymous at it again

At the end of the day... no matter how effectively something is policed

    - Speeding; people continue to speed when Police have Speed Camers / ANPR technology
    - Murder; well to be honest, British justice system is a joke :/
    - Tax Evasion; Offshore Accounts, simples!

They are just examples, as for hacking I think Government/Agency will never be able to police this @ 100% effectively.

The funny thing is, it probably won't be long before the average sentence for piracy is greater then that of murder.

We already have a system where robbers seem to get harsher penalties then murderer/rapists.......and that's before hollywood get their new bill(s) through.

    Re: Anonymous at it again

Some of you may or may not know a day or so back Anonymous attacked the CIA.gov website. It took a while to find out if it was anonymous or not.

Supposedly a so called representative sent gizmodo a manifesto.

    http://gizmodo.com/5884346/anonymous...s-cia-takedown

    Citizens of the World,

    We are Anonymous.

We are people. Just like you. We are not robots, we are not inhuman.
We are human. We are everyone.

That being said, We also have the capacity for the same errors of
judgement and mistakes that everyone does.

We are committed to improving the lives of everyone on this planet by
whatever means we deem necessary, because we feel that if we have to
take action to righta wrong, its gone on entirely too long. If that
is indeed the case, it has probably been ignored by the people who
should've delt with it. Those people have much higher budgets and
significantly larger resource pools, than what we have available. All
we have is each other. For good or bad. Some use the Anonymous name
to try to "Profit!" off of it, some use it for nefarious reasons, and
we've even seen some use it to try to get laid. Regardless of the
reason its used, we are united under common goals, for the common
    good.

There are projects we are working on that cannot be discussed, as to
do so would impact them negatively, and significantly. However, even
those of us working for good, sometimes make very bad, rash, and
ill-thought out decisions. Such is the case of one individual who
shall remain anonymous. We will leave it at this.

To the CIA: We are sorry your website is down. It was not the
intended purpose of our actions, however, in doing so we have created
a way more significant amount of attention to a situation that goes
unnoticed far too often. Six compromised servers containing child
pornography are activly DDOSing your webserver. We cannot stop this,
we have no access to them, due to the fact that the network link is
entirely saturated and we cannot log back in. It will stop 41.6 days
after the time it began. Your only choice is to act, and have them
taken offline, which should have already happened.

    We are Anonymous.
    We are legion,
    We do not forgive,
    We do not forget.

    You should have expected us...
Appreciate what they are trying to do in this situation, but surely it would of been better for them to attack the host of the servers? And then report it to a proper authority.
