Rear windows in cars can make a huge difference for visibility.
And on that subject, I've seen another problem with the film. It shows the tractor unit of the lorry already well into the turn and it's barely onto the junction. In reality, the tractor unit wouldn't start to turn for another 15 feet or so. As it is seen in the film, if the turn continues, the trailer wheels would mount the pavement.

So, another bad point for the driver of this vehicle.

A company I worked for used to take a truck to events with a bicycle and do these types of demonstrations in town centres a couple of times a year to try and make cyclist aware of the dangers of undertaking lorries at road junctions.

I have to agree that that wide angle lens is just not set right, It needs to only be able to just see the rear most edge of the side spoiler on the cab.

Still I guess it is food for thought, It still amazes me that Cyclists bleat on about being the most vulnerable road users and yet they are always putting themselves in some of the most dangerous positions on the road.

How many car drivers would drive up the inside of a lorry indicating to turn left at the lights? Not many except those that probably should have their licence revoked.

I don't like passing lorries by junctions on either side - too easy for them to swing wider than you're expecting and clip your car.
