    Operation Do No Evil

So whilst the title is obviously satire, google have changed their privacy policy with immediate effect.

This worries me because they have effectively said that they will read everything from your emails, youtubes, google searches, maps whilst spying on what you do on your andriod phone.

If only bing search wasn't so crap.

    Old but relevant:

    Re: Operation Do No Evil

sorry but all this paranoid conspiracy stuff about this company or that company are spying is getting a bit stale now.

they are not reading you mail they are keyword scanning.

Governments of the world have been keyword scanning emails for years.

Like I have said many times before if you are doing nothing wrong why should you care if they keyword scan.

you want to get away from it the solution is simple, turn off your computer and stay off the internet.

How do you think that will help?

You don't honestly believe that yahoo or bing don't keyword scan as well do you?

    They all do it

I am of a very similar opinion. Life is too short to worry about this kind of thing, they ain't gunna use the information to kill your cat, just alter adverts you'd see anyway into adverts that are of more use to you.... who cares?

edit: Especially when the anti-piracy lobby/Government isn't gunna stop until motion sensitive camera are attached to your forehead checking everything your watching every minute of the day....

That you have to have an account, and sign in, to use it ..... thereby giving them the data they need to link, that being your sign-in details.

ah come on, it's such a good consiparcy theory though.

Google suddenly has limitless information on what any identifiable individual has done over a long and very extended period of time. The potential for abuse is incredible, and not just from the top, but from anyone who has access to any of the information they hoard.

I mean, wow. In 20 years teenagers who are searching for information on every random, dark and twisted thought going across their heads could be faced with some scarily detailed search history and online activity being used as blackmail. Future captains of industry and politicians beware!

I don't agree with Government spying on people. The government couldn't find its arse with both hands. But Google? Google has got its crap together. Very together. Information is power, and they know that more than anyone.

Have I got a Google Account? Yes I do. Do I log out before I look at porn. Yes I do.
