We need a kinect hack that whenever you look at a CAT post, instantly starts playing the benny hill theme.

I have seriously tried to give up twice in my life, both times just going "cold turkey". One time I lasted around 3 months, the other around 6. I wouldn't say it is always the best way to give up,
Saying that, I wouldn't trust switching to electronic cigarettes, I would imagine the ease of switching back to normal cigarettes would be higher than if you only used patches (i.e. the habits that go along with smoking also need to be broken).
Give the NHS a call, they may be your best bet. And if you are serious, good luck with it!
I've recently bought something called an e-lite. It looks just like a fag, except the end glows green.
They do get rid of the craving for a cig, and you even breathe in a vapour which adds to the feel of it, but they give me a very dry mouth.
Can get the cartridges in all sorts of flavours.
The cartridges cost just over £13 for 2 and each one holds about 80 cigarettes worth of nicotine.
Hope this is helpful.

wife was going to buy some in the local shopping mall as stand was demonstrating them and thought them a good way.
1st thing to strike me was, if they are so good for you why have the Nhs not caught on and affiliated themselves with the idea.
So of to jolly old internet and research it i did, arghhhh i was right most of the American and British medical boards had tried to lock down what exactly was in the vapour etc, they never found out to much except for the anti freeze in some of them, yup been mixed with good ole anti freeze and other nefarious chemicals, also deeper research found more serious health problems caused by breathing the vapour long periods so being a vapour it is absorbed into tissue etc quickly and people complained of very dry throats afterwards as well which is odd for just a vapour !!.

My advice stay away and quit the Nhs or your own way why swap one hand to mouth habit for another
you have to break that cycle as well as the addiction and habit of smoking, there is quick fix its down to will power and some help with patches etc approved by leading medical boards and doctors.
it's still a work in progress for me and the missus but getting there.

I don't know why people are looking for a 'quick easy answer' with these things, there is a drug which for some people is, Champix, free on the NHS........... I also mentioned this up top.
You want to quit, see the NHS nurse. You don't? Dick about with this nonsense.

also you may notice alot of the very
positive "reviews" for electronic cigs are from the people or companies who are selling them on the internet......
funny that !!!!!!!
I used to smoke Djarums for the positives effects - plus the cherry / black taste nice..
Im not a drinker at all you see - but if im smoking then I will , of course aint smoked in 2 yrs ( partly because of my anosmia making it less enjoyable ) partly the cost ( £7.00 a pack )
I may need to treat myself as I do enjoy a puff .
m
Exactly what I did
I smoked for over 20 years and one day decided I had had enough.
That was 4 years ago and I have not had a cigarette since.
Somewhere around here I have a quit key that I bought for my wife.
one time expense unlike e-cigs that require you to buy cartridges to go in them.
Smoke as normal for a week and then this thing starts to regulate your smoking slowly increasing the gap between smokes until you quit.
Very effective way to do it for those that can't quit outright
