I don't quite know what to make of this. part of me wants to say 'cool, look at that' and another part of me says 'what the f* is that silly little pr*ck doing?!'
whilst all the blokes here will agree playing with the bonfire/bbq is natural, after all man harnessed fire to create the world around him, but come on - this takes the home project a bit too far. clearly a case of too much time alone at home and not out with your mates - cause you have none!

    Interesting

A friend of mine wanted a flame thrower for burning weeds off a platfrom (old railway station) so he picked up an old second hand one which turmed out to be rather puny. I think I'll suggest he makes one of those

Actually with a bit of thought and the use of metal canisters, seperate pressure vessels, petrol etc you could probably make a pretty heavy duty flame thrower without too much trouble. I have to say though that that guy must be pretty sure of his own construction to strap pressurised fuel to his back with a naked flame only a few inches away

Stupid americans.... He seems to have missed several important safety features - I would not like to be using that. The extra parts to make it safe wouldnt cost much so one can only assume he doesnt know what hes doing, therfore I hope he gets himself arrested..
flame throwers seem a bit pointless... suppose you could use it to fry small animals... but Id rather build a coilgun and shoot peices of sharp metal at objects 20 meters away. ..
Infact, im very tempted to make one now.. if only i had some more parts

You probably wouldnt say it was pointless if he was pointing it at you .
Anyway that is small fry in comparison to this

It looks like that guy is all decked out in a flame proof suit too.
