Get the Council / Pest Control to do it properly or you risk finding out the girl next door is allergic to 15'000 wqasp sting after you've attacked the nest again.

The foam spray from a hardware store melts the nest and kills the wasps, i used it once and it worked fine.

ha we had one in the little jutting out roof bit over my bedroom window, me and blockers decided to poke it with a broom very hard, nothing much happened
we have some wasp spray that is really high velocity and fires bout 20 yards so dad took them out with that, they havnt come back since but its fun having a wasps nest lol
bees are cool wasps suck i reckon 100 bees could beat up 200 wasps, even tho when bees sting they die? apparently?
also if you catch one of those wasps and put it in the freezer for a while u can tie some string round it when its frozen and then when it warms up youll have a pet wasp! yay then u can piss it of by walking near the nest and jsut holding it back from gettting int it hole

Well they die when stinging thick skinned mammals like us . Because their stingy bit (god knows what its called) gets stuck in the skin and when they try and fly off the tear a big chunk out of themselves . They can sting other bees and wasps just fine though.

would have to say - foam spray all the way...poor buggers.
we had a hornet's nest near my house in berkshire!! ket coming in everyday we had at least one in the house somewhere, they are SOOOO loud compared to wasps - makes wasps look cute and cuddly! I wasn't too worried myself but I was worried for our cats who love to jump at low flying insects, surely a sting from one would inflict serious damage on a small animal?

It's actually fairly rare for bees to try to sting wasps. When wasps attack a beehive for the honey (which does happen) many, many bees pile on top of a wasp to try to suffocate it.

We had one in our shed, I used that foam stuff too. Works very well, I was yet another person who attacked them the run for cover (ie. inside) as fast as my legs would carry me =D

    Thumbs down Nightmare

My mate had one in his front garden once, and so him and his neighbour decided to get their BB guns out and unload loads of paint pellets into the nest.

Obviously the wasps went beserk and they legged it indoors, and just at that moment a bloke walked round the corner and towards the nest...

    Poor fella

Caught one dead early. A queen, well I think so cuz this thing was massive, was just starting to build a nest. Not wanting to enter an enclosed space with this monster I most gallantly stood outside and shot it with my air rifle And no it wasn't that good a shot. Like I say, this thing was huge. Made a nice splat tho.

But they do though. You're sat in your room chillin' to some tunes when all of a sudden you hear:

    BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Next thing you know there's a bloody great wasp terrorising you and the moment you try to deal with it, it goes beserk and tries to sting you. If you squash it 50 of his mates come looking for you....
