You can tell from the way he's riding it that he knows the route well though. I couldn't go down a hill like that first time, but let me ride it a few times so I get to know the drops etc. and it doesn't look *too* bad.

Of course, with helmet-cam footage you can't tell how steep the various parts of the route are either: that's a very different route is it's a 1:20 than if it a 1:8!

Saw that last night and my heart jumped a few times seeing the drops to his right.

Whether I knew the path or not, I couldn't go that fast, anything could go wrong at any time. I thnk this comment sums it up pretty well -

Must be hard to ride a bike with balls that big

I'm more impressed by the build quality of that bike.. Whoever built/designed that deserves a pay rise!

Why can't all commentators be like that?

Better than the stunt driving in most films that!

Oh and in regards to commentary, not biking but worth a watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHLotUOvO9A

Re: Downhill mountain biking, got stones?

All red blooded males like riding down hill, just most of us can only dream of being this good.

If you like that check out the guy's other films. Not If, But When is particularly worth a watch.
