If people are backward, it is down to their education, starting with their own parents. It easier to blame something else instead of starting at the root cause,ie,lack of education.
So how do you explain all these rich elite with the best upbringing money could buy using it to kill and control others in their own self interest ?

They are surrounded by smart talented people yet look at the issues in the world today that all seem to lead them..

Intelligence helps for sure, as does tech but its our consciousness ( our awareness of who we are ) that ultimately liberates us or leaves us to others fates.

Being a-holes is direct side effect of not having that because it sees separations and creates it ( EGO ) and also conversely how we are controlled and lead into our sheep pens.

So,how do you explain Genghis Khan being a massive tyrant a thousand years ago?? Blaming technology for the worlds ills is verging on neo-luditism. People have been a-holes to each other since the start of recorded history.

Only education can help and people taking responsibility for action. Banning technology as some convenient scapegoat won't.

Its like saying metallic object objects killed hundreds of millions of people in the last 2000 years, and metallurgy should have never been pursued.

Anyway, would you mind not derailing this thread any more?? Thank you.

Technology as you said has had more of impact now , so thats one reason why it is or can be a bad thing ( good sometimes too ) , it does not create evil though or wars YET ( did you see my posted rap video ? ) I agree but it does and can encourage those with those intentions to do so .i.e. World conquest or domination

In the end it does to down lack of consciousness thats sees separation rather than us all being the same, that is where EGO and hate - wars come from - not love or religion ( though theres a lot EGOs there too as we know -religion that is ) and why 1 % has everything and the rests of 0.

NOW I WILL SHUT UP per your request

With any luck the SABRE engine will finally achieve the dream of one stage rocket/plane (Think we need a new hybrid name). It might be decades away from full use but this could lead to the next big steps in space.

So this engine could also be used for passenger airliners too? That would also be pretty cool. I always thought it was a shame when Concorde was no more. Would be good if there was something new to replace it

But at the end of the day sometimes thats very important. One of the technology revolutions I think is that we can buy such great computers for so little money.

Also I think its worth say using CPU performance as an example, it had largely been the main driver in evolution of home user hardware. The last couple of years its faded into one of the least. Broadband speed, SSD speed etc appear all the more important.

What I'm getting at is sometimes it is just refining which is the most important. Also a lot of great innovations which provide momentous leaps are refinements.

Re: Reaction Engines begin tests of pre-cooler which is essential for the SABRE engin

Maybe its more a case of 60 years, and still we are using expendable rockets even for basic launches. It means launch frequency is curtailed due to logistics, and pollution is high.

In the past, early computers used valves and these had short lifespans which meant they need to be replaced frequently. Along came the transistor, and more or less solved that issue. Later valves had longer lifespans, but not as long as transistors and consumed loads of power.

When it comes to space launch technology we are still at the valve stage. SSTO,will mean we will be in the transistor age.

We as a country wasted over $6 billlion on the Nimrod MRA4 fiasco, and that was basically to rebuild some 40 to 50 year old airliners.

Yet,that is half the estimated budget needed for Skylon.

It just shows you how little is spent on space.
