The program seems to have become quite diverted from it's original premise, i.e. to provide another act for the Royal Variety. It's just another OTT 'talent' show, and yet somehow people still lap it up

Ah, thank you, not something I have ever watched. (I did see about 30 seconds of something called "The voice" a few weeks ago - Tom Jones and 3 unknowns playing in swivle chairs to a screaming audience)

may i ask why anyone watch's it? I mean, there is so much half decent stuff to set your machine to watch surely this should be simply ignore ..... no?

to be fair, Will I Am is hardly an unknown mate, and apart from his music career has done some work for Intel, removed his extended family from the Ghetto and is generally a talented bloke

Sorry for my oh so cryptic post, I only watched it cuz Sally told me there was an opera singer on it, so I watched and he was utterly brilliant.

The very fact that a dog, who has no talent, only training by rote, won, points to the sickness that is the British voting public

As I understand it, BGT is a Simon Cowell production. Now I daresay he makes some decent coin from it anyway but clearly, since his main business is running a record company, the main purpose of the show is that he can find new musical acts to sign and make money from.

And yet the 'British voting public' consistently vote for dance acts, or in this case, a performing dog.

I'd say that either you're a Cowell fan, or you're doing the 'British voting public' a grave disservice .
