Just got scammed badly by someone in the US, any suggestions ?

I just managed to make a phone all ( I have issues speaking due to health ) to my former would-be helper in the US ( the one I posted a video of here ) that originally agreed to help me. However it turns out , after continually making excuses, has decided to finally give me the shove by hanging up just some 20 mins and and 8 months later.

The problem is I sent all this stuff ( motors etc ) under good faith he would help, and now he has it ( and obviously scammed me in the process ) I have no evidence of that agreement other than through pm ,email , the video i posted which he sent me a link too , and his shipping address on the items i had shipped to him ( one from china ).

His ip address from what I can see is private ( 10.229.128.220 ) so that route seems a waste of time , and the only other thing I can think of is the fact I sent the motor to him myself because it had been mis-delievered to me first.

Does any one have any ideas on what i could do ?

    cheers

If you have his home address, might be worth contacting the state police wherever he lives. They should have a website with contact details.

Unless you can prove a case against him there's no point contacting the police, here or in the U.S.

You're gonna have to chalk this up as an expensive learning experience

I would tend to disagree there if you nicely explain the situation to his local police and you get a decent officer he may go round and have a talk with him. The police visit alone could be enough to kick this guy into gear and get him to return your stuff.

It does not hurt to try

I've heard/read stories of local police being able to do a little a bit. As others have said, the visit itself can gently persuade certain individuals.

local police never even responded to my email.

found the thiefs facebook though , for what its worth ( if I wanted to use propaganda ) though I doubt it would achieve much..

    Overall he owes me $700.00..

Create 3 accounts to add him as a friend, use the friend reset to reset his password then hijack his bookface for a ransom and deliver a suitable ransom (joking of course)

You may want to see if you can get a solicitor that deals with cross boarder disputes, won't be cheap though.

Has he actually scammed you, or just lost interest in doing the work ?

Is he now ignoring all your communication, or would bhe be willing to ship the parts back / to someone else in the US ?

Scamming was prob a bad choice as I dont know for sure , though the fact remains he actually has more than $700 ( 750 ) in items i sent him ( one i paid for to be resent to the US from here ) , and yes has cut all communication .

Wont , and hasnt , respond too emails, and hung up on me after letting me speak for 10 seconds ( never said a word himself ) when i attempted to speak to him 2 wks or so ago.

I would have to win a lot more than $750 in damages to just pay him lol.
