Re: Lovely all night spent in A&E

Work have asked me for a sick note to cover me till nex Wednesday. Even thought have to be at work till next Wednesday because of the bank holiday weekend they are still counting that as me being off sick. So thats been sorted and is being posted up to my flatmates who I work with to hand in for me.

Only went in for that but came out with pills and creams for a condition I really didn't think was serious !

As an A&E doc myself, I find it pretty shocking practise you weren't given painkillers - first dislocation is always painful. Oh, and you were 'sedated' to pop it back in.

That old urban legend about catching a testis when relocating a hip is utter bunkum, by the way.

Hope you feel better soon - don't get frozen shoulder, and don't be a hero, take enough painkillers to let you function normally.

Yes totally agree, thought it was shocking that no pain killers were perscribed. In all fairness I've only taken two lots of them at home as I've felt I just haven't needed any. That was the word I was looking for thanks lol

Back to work next Wednesday, md looking forward to returning to my life in WSM

I've never heard that one before but after seeing countless X-rays of both regions its pretty obvious that its just physically impossible.

On a side note, It looks like I'm trying to go one better than Ironman and become Titanium/CeramicMan, looks like I may be having my shoulder replaced...

Delighted to hear you move to WSM is working out well, notwithstanding your injury!

So perhaps we can conclude that relocation>dislocation

Some people tend to have this type of problems. I heard building up stronger muscles would help and prevent future incidents.

Re: Lovely all night spent in A&E

Thats alroght mate, I'm on the mend, although I have really gone against medical advice. They wanted me to sling it up for 3 weeks, I said what about work ? I need to type and talk, they said well we'll sign you off, I said no thanks, I'll just becareful with what I'm doing. I'm no stranger to dislocatied arms as my left one has been out more times than I care to remember. Not only that I couldn't afford the time off sick and I'd get the sack for it !

Seems someone is keeping an eye on me though, she won't let me drive my car !
