    weve got an owl that can usually be heard l8 at night and occasionally sits on a telephone pole outside our house making its noises ,guessing its a barn owl but not got a good look at it to tell yet

    Beautiful animals they are. My uncle goes to a falconry place at Nottingham very often, has two owls and a kestral that he looks after. Bloddy heavy though, and those tallons ain't half sharp, even with a gauntlet on!

    One of these landed next to me on a bench in my back garden the other night. Was after some left overs on the lawn i think. I was quite amazed. There's some other massive owls round here, not sure what they are though.

    They're nocturnal birds that hunt on small animals like mice and voles etc.... and they hoot a lot.
