yep, they tend to charge the first 2 months together, although i can't think that i get charged for the month in advance, but i'm with vodafone, i'm guessing it's as Maldonado says though and is all normal.

text messages, have you made/recieved any text messages from abroad? they may not be covered, or sent any mms messages or the like? premium rate text servises such as football score updates? that's about all i can think of!

i don't know about the helpdesk charge if there is one i'm afraid, is rediculous if they do though!

1 media message equal 4 normal messages, i.e. if you only sent media messages you would only get 125 free per month.

You pay for the time you had it till the next billing cycle which then charges you the next month in advance.

I have just signed up to O2 recently as well Bobby. I got my contract from a shop and was warned it will be very weird what happens in the first month. After which tho, it settles down and all is ok

yeah - these phone companies robbing us blind and making up excuses as to how and why they charge you more each time...
I'm with orange and it pisses the hell out of me when I sent txt's to people and they arrive from anything to a couple of hours to over 2 days later...
    arses.

plus if there's a problem the shops you got the phone from have no power to do Anything, complaining that I hve to ring up all the time... cheap money grabbing B******ds...is all I can say.

I went through carphonewarehouse for my O2 shop, i was given an 0845 number but no mention of anything like premium rate! Does 0845 numbers mean i am paying 50p/min. If so eek! Cos i made a call to it off my mobile an was on there for a good 5 mins

The two month O2 rental is a bit a swiz but It's understandable.

So why the odd text? Well... it goes something like this..

You get free message entitlement.. but it doesn't start from the day you connect. They basically switch it on after a few days. Nice and helpful
