I cant even receive MMS on 02 PAYG (6230) . . . I have to go to a site to download it. Im sure i have all the settings

Anyway, is your SIM card the one with 1MB free GPRS a month (providing you top up £10)? What exactly was the MMS that 02 sent you anyway ?

Right MMS works differently from normal TXTs...
    you need to connect.
There are two options (the same as with WAP...) you can either dial up (refferred to as CSD), or use GPRS.
CSD is basically like a modem connection. You dial up a server, and you phone downlaods the message, or webpage or whatever. Usually these are not freephone numbers, and you are charge 10p/min or whatever.
GPRS is different. For webpages and normal WAP broswing you get charged per kb or mb.

You will hav either used CSD (and therefore payed for the call time), or an incorrect GPRS profile (so you are charged for the data transfered).
You should go to the o2 website and get them to txt you the correct setting for GPRS MMS (there should be an option on their site for that, or you can input them manually). In theory your free 1mb allowance would be for WAP (and a different profile thing), and so by recieving MMSes on GPRS you are not using it up.

Remeber guys: for MMS use GPRS (even if you dont have WAP GPRS), otherwise you will get stung for call charges as well as the sending charge.

Hope that makes sense. I learnt this the hard way by not understanding and then my phone connected and used up all my credit and disconncectly once I had run out. I was not impressed. At least it was only about £1.20 or something though.

lol I can access my MMS box but the images and files that are sent are non-viewable it just shows as a red X on my mobile screen and also my PC. What a crock 02 is really

As soon as I get some cash I'm jumping ship as call connection ratio is dire and so is actual signal strength. I am actually sorry I left orange now as at least you can call on their phones and send/recieve MMS.

ok... seems i only got charged 1p, as i checked my balance later on and its returned to a whopping 99p... i connected via GPRS (have a t610 phone)... the mms messages were just explaining about sending mms messages and trying to get me to spend more money on o2.. as for the bolton i have one which is 50texts and 50xnet&peak minutes... could do with more free texts but ah well

oh and i fired an email at them this morning, checked just now and had an autoreply which claimed my email contained offensive language and was immediately deleted?! perhaps its my email address (see sig) cos i didnt use any rude words
