Hmm, I clicked OK and a java/applet thingy loads in the same page and asks for my msn username + pass... so looks like it works here. Try fiddling with your security settings in IE.

Signed in ok and can chat to friends

The applet should still load tho being as it is downloaded through the normal http ports.

Whats the default ports for messenger?
I'll try to see if they are still open here using the web client
What does 'Silent Sign In' mean? Signs you in without others knowing you are?

It should work fine as stated above because it should be using the http ports, maybe however it still needs to use the MSN ports, although that would defeat the point of a web version of MSN?
6891 to 6900 TCP in/outgoing for file transfers
1503 TCP application and whiteboard sharing
3389 TCP remote assist
443 Hotmail SSL
5004-65535 UDP incoming A/V real-time streams
Apparantly those are the MSN port, can you do file sending etc on the web version?
*edit* when i log into the web MSN thing, it seems to be connected on port 1863 so I doubt you will be able to use it Bindi, unless you can persuade the admin to open up MSN ports? *edit*
