For our Armed Forces and Emergency services...

During your festivities, please spare a thought for members of our armed and emergency services, who may be putting their lives in danger, and for those who are working to keep other services (such as power and communications) that we tend to take for granted, hospital staff and those that may be less fortunate than ourselves.

Hear hear! I used to work in A&E x-ray and really don't miss the shifts nowadays

Have you read that news story from American of the firefighters being shot yesterday? Absolutely sickening that it was a trap?!

Re: For our Armed Forces and Emergency services...

    Thanks guys.

Xmas day is historically one of the busiest days of the year, for an assortment of reasons. I am on call, hoping to avoid a callout for the next couple of hours as the crews are meeting for Xmas lunch.

Very similar situation here as well. A bit of a shame that we can't do the traditional Christmas, but we work everything around it pretty successfully. Credit to everyone that does it, a big sacrifice.

Re: For our Armed Forces and Emergency services...

Yesterday was a busy shift for the crisis team, yesterday is not quite so bad. Most people forget that this is the lowest point in the year for many.
