    Skiing holiday???

I'm thinking of going skiing on holiday in early/mid Jan 2005, i've been skiing before and i'm okay - can skii parallel(not been recently tho) only thing is i've got no-one to go with this year, last one i went Jan 2002 was to see friends in norway for 2 weeks unscripted, however i'd like to make this one to stay at a particular place (not fussed where but figure eastern europe would be cheaper)

Anyone know any organised trips or schemes that i could go and join a group of people rather than doing these sort of things on my todd which is fine, apart from the fact get bored and not talk to anyone for however long i go for...

Yes it sounds sad, try being single when all your mates have other halfs

    Airtours

Get a last minute deal, make sure you're staying in a chalet. You stay in a house with about 30 people and you'll make friends instantly. Last time i went with my dad, we met this guy and his female friend, we then spent the whole week skiing with the guy cause the woman got involved with this divorced guy in another group.

Dont worry if you go on your own, there will be a group of your ability and they'll welcome you. Also, if theres a bar crawl, go on it

I went skiing in Transylvania a coupla years ago, they had the kinda thing your talking about going on there, though unsurprisingly I can't remember the details. I'll see if I can dig up the info. It was fantastically cheap.

Chalet holidays are a good way of meeting people. In fact you have little choice than to "socialise". I have always had a good group of people in Chalet Holidays many of whom were single. It can be a bit of a lottery with the catering though. Sometimes it's very good and sometimes its barely adequate.

Downsides are that you often have to share "facilities", which can be an issue with some peeps and generally Chalets are in France, Switzerland and Italy which are the more expensive destinations.

I've been on 3 chalet holidays (austria x 2, italy) and both austria holidays were amazing, italy wasn't as fun. My top destination is north america, but you can get a £200 last minute deal from airtours. If the catering isn't up to standard, tell your rep and they'll get it sorted (the first place in went in austria actually had a trained chef in the village cooking for all the airtours chalets there)
