Aaaaargh

Agreed to move into a new property, paid our admin fees, got credit checked...served notice on our existing place....

Now the new propective landlords have decided to let their property to family leaving us high and dry..........Grrr!

Nowt we can do except look for another place pronto!

UK property transaction suck...so many sharks and rip offs...

Unless you have a signed contract there's nowt that can be done
But a very underhanded way to deal with things - I hope he/she was very very apologetic

go through an estate agents tbh. Might be a bit more expensive, but you have more backup if it all goes titsup

To be fair the agent we were dealing with was apologetic, but she'd lost her commission....
The landlord was just business like...
Landlords are dodgy, I've had such a range.....Nice ones who screw you for every penny, dodgy ones who are honest, lost my deposit, had my deposit withheld and had to go to court to get it back......
The laws an ass as far as property is concerned...
