Had you thought of a hiring a van, or man with a van type thing. Its just that companys like TNT etc take your stuff to a central sorting office and it tends to get trashed there. We send equipment all over the world and for anything big a delicate we use direct couriers. Only prob is the price. Have a look in yellow pages for local courier. Last thought we also use TAXI companys, they give a highly reduced rate for A-B services, bit like they do for airport runs.

A lot of places wont pickup over 25Kg due to health and safety regs, as for over that weight you need 2 people or a forklift. Most TV delivery company's have a crew of 2 in the van. Other options are hiring an estate car for the day, thats what my mate did but he was shifting expensive TV's £1500+.

Hiring a ford mondeo estate for the day is around 100 quid IIRC

Maybe from ford for a new one but you can get a minivan for £30 a day. For £100 you can get a 3.5t box van with tail lift. Hertz charge around £60 for a focus estate.

Used parcel2go.com, they have a pallet service for around the £50 last time I used it. They come and put it on a pallet for you and then they wrapp it in a load of cling film like stuff. So you could have the TV wrapped in a hell of a lot of bubble wrap before hand!
