    Sig-gimpery - Yay! How did you make your sig?

    Yay! I finally plucked up the courage to add a colourful sig the reasoning going something like this...

    I've got such a weird username that no-one is ever going to remember it, and will allways see my posts as being by 'some pushy noob' regardless of how pushy or obnoxious I've been in the past.

    Soooo, add big - orange memic sig which people will unconciously remember, and from then onwards all the resentment I recieve will be justly deserved rather than randomly distributed.

    It also made me play with the Gimp running on Knoppix, which frankly was a slightly boggling experience but I'm glad I did as all my previous attempts using M$ paint (sorry) looked cack frankly.

    How do most people get / make their sig graphics? Loads of them look really good, is hexus mostly frequented by photoshop pros or am I the only person who hasn't got it?

    The BBC specs might change. Originally I was going to leave it blank but it looked like something was missing, I though about adding my main box's specs but they're fairly underwhelming, so I settled for the beeb specs (thanks google). The flower is from my website www.flowerchild.org.uk (don't bother looking, there's nothing there) which was the name of my first boat.
    They told me I was gullible ... and I believed them.

    Photoshop is usually the editor of choice but Paint Shop Pro is nice too.

    Purely photoshop with mine, just a load of filters mixed thogether.

    Photoshop owns you. Well actually it owns me. It also owns my computer's system RAM quite frequently.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    When I was using the GIMP on Knoppix I had to save all the files on the Ramdisk as it won't let you write to the HDs, and it was letting me have a 780 meg ramdisk with the gimp and several mozilla windows running. Windose rarely says I have that much free after a reboot

    I'm also interested in why people chose the sig design they did. Is it just "my specs over an image I like" or is it something more complicated?
    Edit: Avatar design too, why did people chose what they chose?

    Very true add illustrator to the mix and you begin to wonder do you really have 1Gig of RAM .

    My rather boring sig was made as a quicky in photoshop and was taken from a William Morris wallpaper. Havent got round to making a better one yet .

    I use Photoshop a lot as I know how to use it but I find the Gimp very good for abstract filters etc. You can get some cool stuff with some of those filter .

    I don't actually have a "proper" sig at all . It's not that I don't want one. I'm probably not artistic enough and don't have any good software anyway.

    OK, I will..... eventually. My PC's currently not working, and this is my parents computers and they don't like things downloaded, so I'll just wait. In the mean time, I'll think of sig ideas .
