Drink a pint of room-temp water with 3 spoonfulls of honey in it. This, for various reasons, is a very fast acting hang over cure.

But if your stomache's weak, don't forget to sip it, don't down it.

I always think getting on with something a little active, pref in the fresh air helps. Last time I got bladdered with a mate in Sheffield we went and flew a kite up on the peaks the next day. Works great, first reduce your mental age to that of a child, then act like one
They told me I was gullible ... and I believed them.

But that brings us round to the other half of the original question: Why do we do it...

Reminds me of a Grep Proops (spl?) sketch
    "Americans drink to be sociable,
The French drink 'cos it's fun,
The British drink as though someone might take it away!"
They told me I was gullible ... and I believed them.

    Americans drink to be sociable
    I dont agreee with that....

Americans drink beer if they are thirsty , but you try and get an american to go for a swift half at lunchtime !

The phrase I prefer is " Americans drink to see how much thay need to drink to get drunk , Brits drink to see how much they can drink before they get drunk "

I'm having a month off the booze, I was drinking every day and turning up to work with a hangover several times a week, and it was getting a bit silly. I haven't had a drink since Friday night and I feel better already.

As for a hangover cure, cups of strong sweet tea are good, as is greasy food (a McDonalds breakfast of some description does me the world of good).

Back in college, Thursdays used to be THE night to get blotto'ed, so I'd always have to be in college the next day. The thing that worked for me best was a bread roll (or mini-baguette if possible!) covered in grated cheese and bunged in the microwave for 20 seconds. That, some cherryade, a couple of anadins and a fag always did the trick. Well... at least until I got to college - bloody 50 minute walk! Soon as I got there, I'd be in the refrectory having a slush puppy

Bacon, Egg, Sausage and Mushroom butty usually does the trick with me......if not, get back on the ale asap Like Rave, I really do need to cut down on the amount I drink, but working continental shifts ( 3, 12 hour shifts a week ) I have far too much time to kill and end up down the local boozer, or sit at me pc all day getting pished

    Cure: Fry up.
Prevention: Drink a pint of water when you get in before you go to bed.

That works for me, if I hadn't quit drinking for 3 months

Whilst it sucks not drinking whilst I am out, its nice that I can laugh at you lot with hangovers
