only about a week apparently, its gonna be difficult especially as im gonna try and not eat for the next few days......

Hmmm... Years ago, when I had my ears pierced, I was told not to swim for at least 6 weeks... I guess I've been had.

If Knoxville likes to swim with his mouth wide open and drink as much pool water as he wants... then I'd advise him not to swim for 6 weeks.

Other than that - the tongue has a very good blood supply, so will heal much faster than an ear piercing. Only reasons you were told not to swim for six weeks were:

-Chlorine might irritate the piercing
-Lots of other people swim in the pool, so you're pretty much letting a hundred or so people touch your piercing whilst swimming
-A wet piercing won't heal as quickly as a dry one.

Same with tattoos and other body piercings.
