Since when did DHL start phoning & alerting you of deliveries ?

I received 3 phone calls today from DHL on a withheld number that said I had shipment ( which I do ) needing to be paid .

The thing is , I always do this once I have the invoice here and its been delivered - not beforehand - so I dont why they've decided to do this now.

The other thing is I dont even think it was the same web address either ( the phone call was pretty fast and not your usual slower automated voice )

Is there a scam going about ?

Lots of scams of this sort - last time DHL needed me to pay something they sent me a letter.

The common sense thing to do is to phone DHL on their published number, with your parcel tracking number, and ask what the status of your parcel is.

Lots of these are just fishing - send out enough and there is sure to be someone expecting a delivery. There are usually only fees to be paid if it is an import and there is import duty and/or VAT to be paid. As others have said, those are usually payable at time of delivery, or on presentation of an invoice. If in doubt, call DHL.

Did you get through to them?

I would have told the person on the other end about the phone calls to see what they said about them.

Yes,eventually , and apparently the phone calls were genuine ..

The strange thing about it all too ,was that my shipment wasn't showing up on their site after I entered my waybill, so there was really nothing official to say I had anything to pay customs at all, nothing other than those dodgy phone calls of course....
