And yet no MSE?
Assuming your running a legit version of windows that's up to date with the patches.. yes. Most historical viruses probably target vulnerabilities that have since been fixed or are protected against through the firewall. If OP had included a link to the site we could check maybe. It's one of the reasons you don't want to be running a pirate version of windows (though I'm confused by the wording 'out of the box' - maybe these are viruses that targeted win XP etc. and are defeated by win 7 natively).
I wonder how the line takes UAC prompts into account? I.e. does it mean completely protected, or that the user will be shown an (invariably ignored) warning?
Forgot to add, Norton is also missing?
I would've expected ESET to score higher than that, too!
well you cant expect these tests are 100% accuracy right? at the same time we also can't tell its wrong. So i just hope this test give a hint to us what virus guard we should go for but its completely in your hand to chose which one. personally i like kaspersky and it was keep away my pc from virus and harm behavior programmes always .

Details about the test and explanation of the results can be read in the report: av-comparatives.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/avc_prot_2013a_en.pdf
The white line is with MSE.

I prefer Avast, i have worked on several friends computers that have had problems and have had McAfee paid for which could not find the problem and i then run the free version of Avast and found several viruses then removed them, up to now it has not let me down the only problem is it uses quite a lot of my internet bandwidth so for people who have a slow connection it may not be for them.
From that PDF: "Any use of the results, etc. in whole or
in part, is ONLY permitted with the explicit wr
itten agreement of the management board of AV-
Comparatives e.V., prior to any publication. "
Nipun, did you get permission? Or are we covered under some other thing?
