    eBay are arsewipes

It seems you cannot open a 2nd dispute, I have tried 5 times to get the morons at eBay to listen.

I had to open a dispute after being sent 1 of 2 items, I got the 2nd item. case closed.

now it turns out that are lower quality that I could have imagined, and the BMW Decal plastic has turned yellow in less than a month.

But no, you cannot open a dispute again.

sod off eBay, you lost another customer.

    Re: eBay are arsewipes

In August of 2012, eBay changed its user agreement to include a number of questionable items. I closed my account the next day. Seriously have no idea why people still cling to eBay; the times have changed. It isn't the same company from ten years ago.

Nope ,but there is still no big alternative either , which for me is a little surprisig given the demand and the number of other failing services in the past ,like myspace & napster , that evolved or were replaced.

Myspace and Napster didn't require any real world financial commitments. Thus people jump ship with no danger.

    Re: eBay are arsewipes

Would it be possible to try your luck with Paypal if the ebay UI is impractically short-sighted? Surely they can't refuse to sort something just because it's not the first problem? Is there no option to contact ebay directly, or don't they have enough staff for that?

    Re: eBay are arsewipes

You can call them, it is possible. My wife had to do it because of a problem that couldn't be resolved online. In this case they were actually quite helpful and everything got sorted out.

    Re: eBay are arsewipes

Paypal will bounce you back to eBay as you had a claim, I think I will phone as funkstar suggests but I hold no hopes with the annoying American tit I spoke to before.

Last email sent basically said, supply me with a UK address so I can start small claims court proceedings as the sale was via Ebay so I hold you liable.

I use amazon marketplace time and time again now, generally same price/cheaper I have found! Combined with prime and Amazon's epic customer service and you can take go wrong! It makes eBay and PayPal look like a massive chore!

    Re: eBay are arsewipes

My wife still goes to eBay by default when looking for things, even though I've found exactly the same item on Amazon for less numerous times.

Of course it is different if it's for a real auction for someone's stuff instead of a "store" with new items.

I bought a camera off an Amazon store for the wife last Christmas and had a right old faff with the seller (goods not in stock despite 'in stock' as status, trying to palm me off with a different model etc etc). I found Amazon's customer services to be pretty dire compared to ebay's.

I'm largely boycotting Amazon at the moment anyway due to their stupid compulsory 1-click ordering policy on music.

I know, right? So hard to find items sold by REAL people anymore. It was the person-to-person interaction that brought me to eBay in the 90's. Now it's just a bunch of worthless morons who use it to drop-ship garbage they've never even touched. I detest that, and there's no way to sort the chaff, from the real people. A couple of years ago I posted to eBay's support forum asking how I could remove those fake eBay "stores" from my search results and the only replies I got were the rude, "Why would you want to do that? Resellers are the backbone of eBay!" sort of thing.

    eBay is dead.

    Re: eBay are arsewipes

The amount of fake/ripoff/downright dangerous stuff on there is frightening too, and like you say it's very hard to distinguish that sort of stuff from the genuine sellers - the seller ratings are utterly pointless, they tell you nothing about quality of service or the product, and they essentially nag buyers to always leave good feedback regardless, not that anyone reads the comments.
