    That is one terrible article. I'm reminded why I've stopped reading el reg.

    The two are completely incomparable. One is a vulnerability that allows the use of cars without having the key. Another is based on physical access demonstrating that certain components can be used in an abusive manner to endanger the occupants.

    The problem with the censoring of the paper, is we don't have all the facts as to why it was censored. As an example, say someone accidentally leaked the private key, I think controlling the publication of that would be a good idea until the systems can be updated. The chance for theft is too significant. However it appears that the company haven't been active enough in fixing this flaw.

    So without knowing that the researchers followed responsible disclosure, I'm not going to get my knickers in a twist. Especially not over such bad reporting of it.
