Tactical belt?

Anyone use a tactical belt, basically for work i wear Helikon trousers as they can take the punishment, but I do tend to get through belts a little to fast when I am faced with lifting a heavy load sometimes they just give up under the strain.

being over 17 stones not helping matters so I need something to hold it all in

any recommendations ?

I got one from Army surplus a few years back. Use it with my Kevlar lined motorbike jeans. Works great and added advantaqe I could try before buy.

Maybe wear belts a bit looser? never heard of anyone regularly poppign belts before.... Then again I'm not 17 stone or doing heavy lifting....

5.11 and blackhawk are pretty good for usable combat kit. I use a variety of rigger and operator stuff purely because they are well made and can carry a load. £10 on eBay or heinnie haynes is about the right price. I work in engineering so tend to have tools in pockets, rigger belts with the abseil bit cut off tend to be cheap and not slip

The 5.11 tactical TDU belt is pretty good, unlike a lot of the other cheap belts it doesn't give up the ghost holding in my gut. Doesn't slip unlike a lot of other similar belts. Heinnie are a very good company to deal with, sell all sorts of interesting tools, clothes and pointy stuff.

Rigger belts tend to be wider, and lock using Velcro

I have one on my combats and cut the abseil link off as it was pointless on civy trousers. Even the cheap ebay ones tend to be OK.

Should you desire something a bit more custom I can put you in touch with some chaps that make anything from a custom leather belt up to a complete set of plate armour with swords. Personally I draw the line at oiled leather.

Forgot to say, main thing is to find a belt that fits the loops on your trousers. 5.11 tend to do a range of widths.

Thanks, just bought the one on eBay to see how that holds up, saw a few reports on the 5.11 TDU breaking with it being a plastic.

rigger belts rather epic, would use this to lash myself up ladders doing sky calls without thinking twice
