Christmas??!!

But OMG its only October and Im already sick of Christmas!

Dont get me wrong, like most people I love Christmas but why does the hype have to start so early? And its not just the shops. Seems a day doesnt go by without someone mentioning it.
My family want to know what I want already and Im being useless by not having a clue!
People are ranting at work because they dont want to be working Christmas Day and justifying themselves with stupid reasons, my mum is a bit peeved coz I actually want to work christmas day.
Christmas is a time for spending with your families and loved ones and I have no intention of spending another 'Bridget Jones' style single christmas at my Mum's - it was nice but not the same as spending it with someone you love! So unless I get swept off my feet by the love of my life in the next 2 months I intend on spending Christmas earning money and getting drunk!

Im surely not the only one a little fed up with speaking about a time of year you're not particularly looking forward to this year??

well, i've started my xmas shopping! Usually i leave it till xmas eve before i do my shopping, and i'm usually all "bah humbug" but this year i'm not. This year i cant WAIT for xmas! Instead of the usual xmas dinner at granny's and being the only "child" (read: person under 45) there, i've sorted out a transfer of my job so i can spend xmas with my boy . Working in safeways, it's forbidden to take holidays in december, so i decided i'd move my job so i'd get to see my boy and not have to spend another boring non eventful xmas with the obligatory "lets try to outdrink uncle david" (- i usually do win this tho....)

Also, i only have friday afternoons off at the moment, so thats the only time i can do my shopping, so if i start now i should have enough time to get everything together!

Oh yeah, one more thing, i LOVE the BHS xmas shop. I buy most of my silly pressies and decorations from there

Of course I love my mum, but if u'd ever met her u'd understand!! Deck and family have first hand experience from meeting my mother and are all mentally scarred!!
