    David Blaine: Above The Below

    Quote from skyone.com

"His latest challenge will see Blaine encased in a clear-plexi glass box, just seven feet deep, seven feet long and three feet wide, by the River Thames for an incredible 44 days. He will have no food, no communication, and no distractions of any kind. He will have to exist with a tube feeding him water and a waste tube to urinate. "

OK so hes been in the box for a few days now.
But really, will he make it? Will he survive? I just don't understand how anyone could even think of lasting that long without food.

Hes claiming that the first 3 weeks will be fairly easy!! I can't go 3 hours without a nibble or something

I'm sure he will do damage to something but I hope he comes out this one as healthy as possible :/

You can. You can last a long while without food but only with water. He is just an idiot.

    Just watching it on CH4

Giving quite allot of medical information, saying that all his internal organs will get smaller, heart will get thinner and wont beat as hard. Also his bones will get smaller!

Oh and the nice thing is that most people that have gone without food for 45 days (not-voluntarily of course) have lost their sight.

Personally I'd do it for the amount he'll be getting. He's put on loads of weight in preperation, he'll probably have glucose in the water and it's not that dangerous anyway. He's got a journal to write in (which he'll sell as a book when it's over), a good view, non stop attention 24/7 I don't think he'd be too bored. It's not even as if it's high endurance anyway if he can pass notes to his g/f, he also even has lip balm with him!! I've got a mate in the marines and they have to go through much tougher things than that.

Seriously bad memory, but weren't there protestors at the MAZE prison yeaaaaaaars ago who went on a hunger strike and spread the walls of their cells in their faeces?

Argh.. someone fill me in on it. I can't even remember the name of the strike/strikers.
