    Just to clarify:

Agent is not a mod. A username in Green means a user has attended a certain number of the (now sadly dormant) hexus social events.

I am a Moderator. My name is in Red, and my job is basically keeping an eye over the forum in general (and for me, For Sale) to ensure that people post within the rules and to delete the huge amount of spam that hexus attracts. If you're thinking that you rarely see spam on hexus, that's because the hardworking Mod team (and some clever auto-mod tools written by the web team) keep most of the spam from being seen by regular users.

Zak is an admin - name in Orange. Admins are responsible for the smooth running of the forum, for taking decisions on any changes we introduce (like reorganising forums or changing rules), and also for trying to keep the forums generally in line with the atmosphere we want to promote.

All mods and admins are volunteers, and we do the best job we can in what little spare time our real lives allow us. So if Zak hasn't answered straight away, it's probably because he's doing something in real life. I can't speak for Zak because I personally haven't been involved in this discussion, but yes, all admin decisions will be the result of discussion amongst the admin team (often, but not always, including the moderators). And some times the reason is - as Zak said in his original post - that the opinion of the admin team is that it's time to move on from a subject.

    EDIT for crosspost:

I wouldn't have an issue with that, but as I say above I wasn't directly involved in the discussions that lead to Zak's post. You'll have to wait for Zak or another mod/admin who was involved in the discussion to confirm.

Re: No more posts about Russia or the Crimea please

My comment would be - We already closed one thread about this, why resurrect another? It is only going to end up the same way, your posting style is the same so why should the outcome not be !

I know you can say "don't read it if you aren't interested" - BUT the Mods DO have to read everything. And quite frankly I'm bored with it. This is a Techie Forum, admittedly with a GD and QT section, but you really have just been running a blog, which you have now moved to another site (by our request) which you have linked to in your threads. Let's just leave it there.
    Cheers, David

Re: No more posts about Russia or the Crimea please

    lo lovely people

(that includes you j1979, you're not the enemy bud)

I'll be honest... it's boring now. HEXUS is a real life place that most people come to to... escape? think that's the word.

Now the principle of the subject... the principle scares the living crap out of me... but I cant mend it here and frankly.. none of you can.

There are MANY forums out there for the debate to rage on... let them crack on.

but in all honesty HEXUS is home for many of us and the subject in question has been done to death, for what is an all round venue.

in short... there are many other subjects to talk about.

If you want to carry on posting in Question Time, so long as they're seriously good debatable subjects, you knock yourself out.

BUT... this I do say: if no one decides to debate with you... don't just keep adding more and more news to it please.

Right.... onward and upward lovely people
