Currently sitting in a hotel room in Germany for a week-long course on AD troubleshooting, and it's a tropical -1 degrees here... but at home it started snowing last Wednesday night, and I woke up Thursday morning with 6" of snow settled outside

Right outside my apartment block there is a slope perfect for sledging down, and this weekend there have been parents taking their kids there for huge amounts of unadulterated fun!

The geek in me loves that I can sit in a hotel room with a VPN connection to the office, episodes of Futurama on my hard disk, a 10Mbps Internet connection at home, but I would just so love to have a day of my childhood back to spend with that kind of environment - snowball fights, building snowmen & throwing yourself down a slope on a small piece of plastic

Snow is, quite literally, very very cool!

Be young at heart and do all of the above!! You don'y have to be physically young to enjoy yourself sometimes!!!

Heh, got plenty of time to get drunk enough to do it I reckon
It snows until February-March time now!

Xmas party a week on Friday, I wonder if that will end up outside with much in the way of snowy goodness

Trying my hand at curling a week after that too, a department "get drunk with a broom, some ice and a big heavy thing" evening.

Snow > hot weather

Seeing people skiing to work is novel too - the cross-country/biathlon style, not slalom style, that is.

I think they have these sleds like the ones huskies pull, where one person sits in it and the other pushes from behind and can jump on when it picks up speed - must have a go with that with my girlfriend
