Thats a shame and a surprise, Bottom was awesome as was The Young Ones, The New Statesman is not to be forgotten either, his appearances through the ages of Black Adder were always excellent.

That's terrible news, I still have fond memories of watching him and Ade Edmondson in Mr Jolly Lives next door, one of my favourite films from the Comic Strip series.
