RIP Rik Mayall, thanks for all the laughter.
Thanks for the heads up - very sad news. Only 56.
I expect we'll hear more as this story develops.
He's now landed sausage side. :-(

Theres the Bottom reunion dashed forever.
Bloody shame indeed. Was a major part of my formative years (and not in the current BBC sense!). Absolute legend.
Thats a shame and a surprise, Bottom was awesome as was The Young Ones, The New Statesman is not to be forgotten either, his appearances through the ages of Black Adder were always excellent.
I feel kind of weird with this news like I did with Harold Ramis, tends to hit you when people from film and TV you were brought up with die

Really sad.
There's not many times i've laughed as hard at as when he played Lord Flasheart, especially in blackadder goes 4th with Eddie as the Red Barron. Real Legend.
RIP Rik

Dear Fascist Bully Boys,
I'd like to complain about Rik's early exit !
Woof !
Society's to blame,
Or possibly Atari.
Great shame. RIP. Looking forward to seeing the classics such as Yhe Young Ones.
Man what a shame. There are very few good comedians and Rik was one of them.
My youth was spent watching so much of his work.
RIP Rik.
