    Farnborough 2014 - how much??

Now £45 to go to FB2014,as opposed to just over £30 two years ago. Then they try to placate people with the "enthusiasts day" for £31,which is just the rest day between the proper trade air display and the public one in the weekend and has the worst air display.

Guess how much it costs to go to the Paris airshow which alternates with Farnborough?? 14 Euro or just above £11.

I have a feeling I might just avoid it this year.

Not to mention the lack of the F-35....

(Well that was kind of expected!)

RIAT seems "better" value for money, but will cost a metric ton for me to go though.

Aah Farnborough, I wonder if that's why I saw two fighters flying overhead today, didn't get a good look but they looked like eurofighters.

It would be for RIAT,but at nearly £150 including travel,I might need to pass on that too.

Thats just travel via train and the ticket. If I rented some better glass, that would easily be £200+ TBH!

In that sense, even if Paris cost a bit more,I could just spend a few days there, and visit the city too.

Re: Farnborough 2014 - how much??

Managed to find a cheaper and quicker route - still 3.5 to 4 hours each way(including walking time),and closer to £120 for the ticket and train. FFS,I just live in Kent.

    Still not worth it.

Went to the one in Folkestone recently - might go to the one in Eastbourne if the weather is decent.

Re: Farnborough 2014 - how much??

I'll be at Airbourne again this year, been the past few years. Last year I got seats at the Bandstand, the year before that I watched up on the South Downs.

If there's a couple of us heading down there, why not make a Hexus Meet out of it?

And Cat, the weather is always good in Eastbourne!

If they're charging £45, presumably they've got excess demand and are actively trying to deter people? They've certainly deterred me.
