Taking Money.. Am i wrong?

Hi,

If you have read my previous post about the trouble in my home life this will be easier to understand. Anyway the people across the road who I have done a lot of work for in the last couple of months including.. Web site, Flyers, Leaflets, invoices and databases for a new business. They said that they would pay me and kept saying it but i left it as they were close friends. So today i thought to my self i aint having that anymore so i sent a letter and invoice threw their door. I never charged them a lot £205 in total for everything which i think is cheap.

And the husband brings a cheque over for me now this guy is still extremely bad and he is very emotional at the moment and i really do feel sorry for the guy as he is a really nice person. So i feel bad about cashing the cheque now as i thought it would come out of her money but it’s out of his bank he is quite well off and that but still i really feel bad about it. What you think i should do cash it in or tear it up?

205 is extremely cheap for the amount of work it sounds like you've done. I wouldn't worry about it - you've done them a favour for doing it for so little.

Whatever the emotional constraints, you've still done the work mate. And I would guess very cheaply. So maybe if you look at it, not that you've charged them and been callous. But that you have done an awful lot of work, for a very favourable price.

That's how I'd look at it, but then I'm not stood in your shoes!

Ok guys cheers for the advice your always right as usual Will be going to the bank today then to cash it. I think this is the best option as i am in debt my self and could do with every penny up to christmas with a little girl to support.

Agreed, i hate owing favours, cant stand the thought of being in anybody else's pocket, except Fearne Cottons, but thats a story for another day.

Ha! I used to perve on Fearne Cotton on Diggit before my Saturday job as apprentice forklift mechanic.

If I didn't get to perve, the day just wasn't the same.
