    8310e Problems

wonderin if anyone can give me a little help or advice..

got an 8310e on Orange Contract... got a free upgrade next week so got it unlocked for the G/F who's on Voda but not due an upgrade for about 4 months...

now.. with the Orange Sim no problems. Phone works as normal. Put the Voda sim in, and it intermitantly turns off, freezes, dials numbers at random...

took it back to the Orange shop who upgraded the software and messed about with it and pronounced it working fine...

put the Voda sim back in and its still the same problems. Orange say they cant help as it works fine with the Orange sim.. but anyone any ideas what I can try?

could it be a dodgy unlock?

The best bet would be take it into Nokia service outlet and have them flash it with the latest firmware.

That usually sorts out stuff like this.

It could have been a dodgy unlock messing up the firmware.

There is also a small chance that the SIM card might be faulty and is not making good contact with the phone ... not really sure abt this, just guessing.

Yeah take it to CPWH and have them flash it with the latest firmware. I have read of these symptoms in user review of 8310's but they have always been due to the software on the phone having corrupted

i took it back to orange and they've flashed it to the latest software.. I assume this is the latest 'firmware'...

but as its ok with an orange sim, they wont touch it with a Voda sim in..

Get the voda sim replaced as it will be incompatible with the handset if its an older sim.

Also unlocking the phone doesn't guarentee compatibility with other networks.

I know what I'm talking about here because I work for one of the major UK networks and have had this a few times
