Exclamation pug 205 vs HGV - a tale of stupidity

So I'm a little shaky at the moment as I just went in to the back of a HGV trailer!!

all my own stupid fault, and if I had just been calm and relaxed, like I am 99% of the time, I wouldn't be posting this! I was only around 200m from arriving into work, that's how stupid I was

Dumbass me overtook a slowass whitevan of all things, not realising the bigass HGV was in the outerlane to turn left, even though the indicators told me that, I stupidly assumed it was going right, so then stupidly moved back into the inside lane, and skidded all the way into the off-side wall of the trailer. I kinda thought time would slow down and all that, but no, it was frightenly fast

    Code:
    \ trailer
      \
       \
    | \
    |
    me
just lost an indicator glass and a little dent in the driverside wheel-arch, but it could have been *way* worse and gone under the trailer - all because I lost my patience and got stupid. HGV driver was a little annoyed to say the least, but I apologised and explaing as it was all my stupid fault, so he told me to get a hot whiskey and wished me a Merry Christmas.

This all happened about 27min ago, so it could've been a real sucky Christmas for me and my family. So I just want to wish you all a Merry Christmas, and please please please please please please drive sensibly. Even if Granny is doing 20mph

Phew!!! I think I'm gonna try a coffee for the first time

Nice to hear your OK, but stupidity like that could have ruined not only your Chrimbo but also the HGV guy who was only doing his job. As a Coach driver i see these little slips of thoughtfulness on a daily basis. Have a Happy New year and stay safe with a little patience
