    Re: Science fact confession time

I knew that either from GCSE or A level physics too but otherwise I wouldn't have known that.

Did the quiz thing and whilst it wasn't hard, I'm surprised I did manage to get 11/12 still. The only contact I have with science nowadays is sci-fi films. Then again I did only do my A levels around 5 years ago so that wasn't too long ago. Got the last one wrong as I thought astrology was when people go star gazing but didn't relate that to it affecting human behaviour but now that I think about it, things like the zodiac and horoscopes etc are somewhat based on astrology aren't they?

Like most, I just guessed for the vaccine question as the other 3 were unlikely to have found the cure.

This is why you drink green tea on mountains, as you don't want the water to be so hot!

As people have said, it's all due to pressure. I was struggling to breath at 3000m on Mt Beut because I'm an asthmatic. And a bit to much of a fatty lardarse.

I knew that, but through hiking rather than textbooks.. I could also answer that it is due to pressure but the "why" wasn't something I could explain without looking up.

TooNice think of compression and expansion, heating and cooling, how a fridge or freezer works.

    Re: Science fact confession time

I knew that. GCSE. More fleshed out at A-level, and then in detail at uni with the refrigeration coolant charts. Lovely equations about PV=nRT, enthalpy, latent heat and all those equations.

Can't get the quiz to open. Just gives me a blank screen. Weird.
