    DVD Player Repair

My Panasonic LV-50 portable has stopped reading discs all of a sudden, I've tried everything but I think its the laser/motor, as it makes clicking noises when loading up dvds. Anyway, does anyone know where I can get this fixed online? I've emailed all my local Panasonic servicers who've quoted me £100 near my residence in the UK, but wondering if I can get it done for less. Any ideas folks? *I need to get this sorted b4 Febuary urgently*

The clicking noises will be the laser trying to seek the start of the dvd. You will either have to try and open it and clean it, or replace the whole laser unit.

Ive used the DVD lens cleaner, the DVD player is flip-topped so its laser is acccesible. Any methods of laser cleaning that I should use in particular, I remeber something about a cotton bud and 'q-tip' method but don't know how to do it.

*I would of but I forked out for a new 5 hour battery recently (90€) combined with the other one i got about 8 hours of viewing time+ ive been using this player for 3 years non-stop and otherwise its played everything(multi region/dvd+r/w-r/-rw) etc. Have seen the cheapo ones that mates have bought, mine has adjustable screen position, has come in very handy*
