2016 - What tech developments will it bring?

I wonder what tech stuff 2016 will bring?

Anyone brave enough to make some predictions?

maybe... maybe.. AMD will get something on the table that will REALLY kick Intel hard.

Currently they're having to fight on PRICE and not on total power.

As a consumer I am still an AMD boy. Those 8 core FX chips are CHEAP. But for AMD to be compaed more favourably to intel of actual power, speed.. grunt.. would be good.

Go on then...

- Stacked memory will enter mainstream in a variety of applications, giving quite a boost to any bandwidth starved products.

- VR tech will move on significantly, but I don't think gain any widespread adoption.

- Monitors/TVs will start showing hints that the race to 4K wasn't really of great benefit, but instead head towards OLED and high contrast, maybe even HDR, displays. But this movement will only be starting.

- Smartphones.. no new breakthroughs but multi-device/app integration will improve. Good chinese brands will increase their penetration with sensible spec/size machines that some of the big players haven't addressed all that well. MS will get win 10 out on phones at last, and will proudly present a new 'all MS' phone range making it seem like their effect on the 950 etc. were half-hearted.
